8 Ways to Get People to Promote Your Webinar

The # 1 question was, “How do I get people to want to promote my webinar?”

Excellent question.

I’m going to share with you 7 ways that I’ve personally used to get people to do JV webinars with me.

BUT FIRST, before you even think about asking someone to promote your webinar, you need to make sure you have 3 things nailed.

1. Your product is OUTSTANDING

2. Your product is a MATCH for their audience.

3. Your webinar CONVERTS for similar audiences.

If you don’t have these three things dialed in, you’ll be wasting your time.

You’ll not only do poorly, but you’ll be doing a disservice to your partners and even damaging your relationships. Remember, these people are trusting you to deliver the goods for their audience, both in terms of educational content and ultimately sales.

Okay, so here’s 7 ways to get other people to promote your webinar.

1. NETWORK LIKE CRAZY

Get to know people in your niche. Go to seminars where you can hang out with them. Interact with them on their blogs and in their forums. Get to know them through the social networks like Twitter and Facebook.

It’s pretty simple. Friends promote friends. Make a lot of friends in your niche and it will make things 100 times easier.

2. START WITH TIER 2 PLAYERS

Don’t start out by approaching the “gorillas” of your niche industry. They have very little reason to promote you.  Start out by approaching the lesser known people in your niche that have followings and build a track record.

3. SHOW THE MONEY

Collect statistics as you do each webinar. Document how many people registered, how many people showed up, and how many people purchased.

With these numbers you can show your potential partner what might happen if he/she promoted your webinar.

4. BECOME THEIR CUSTOMER

The second fastest way to become acquainted with an influential person than to buy their stuff and introduce yourself as their customer. People feel a debt of gratitude to their customers (and rightly so). You can leverage that feeling to make friends.

5. PROMOTE THEIR PRODUCTS.

The first fastest way to become acquinted with an influential person is to become their affiliate and sell their stuff. When you make money for someone, they’ll listen to you when you talk to them.

6. BE UNIQUE

Have something different and unique to offer. Influential people don’t want to see the same ole, same ole stuff.  If you’ve got something revolutionary and it’s a really good fit for their market, you’ll have a good chance of getting past first base.

7. GIVE FIRST

This is similar to becoming an affiliate for the influential person because selling their products is a form of giving. You can also find out what they are interested in and need, and then try to help them get it.

For instance, today I got a Facebook email from a guy who recommended two wrestling training camps for my son. That was very thoughtful and endeared me to him.

8. GET THEIR ATTENTION

Do something extraordinary to get their attention. Send video emails. Send greeting cards with gifts. Send a DVD with a video of yourself with a portable DVD player.

Send them a $100 bill via FedEx and ask them for 10 minutes of their time on a gotomeeting.

Do something unusual to capture that person’s attention.
