I want to read you a quote from one of the all time biggest business philosophers, Tom Peters.
He says…
“Your power is almost directly proportional to the thickness of your Rolodex, and the time you spend maintaining it. Put bluntly the most potent people I’ve known have been the best networkers — they “know everybody from everywhere” and have been out to lunch with most of them.” – Tom Peters, “The Pursuit of Wow!” Page 36
As Tom puts it, if you want to be successful, you need to be a great networker!
And not only that…
You need to network with “POI’s”, which is short for “People Of Influence.”
Some people call them “gurus” (but I hate that name.)
Powerful people know powerful people! If you want to become a successful, powerful person, you should be networking with powerful people.
But you’re probably saying…
“I’m A Nobody! I Don’t Know Anyone”
That might be true.
So today I’m going to reveal the greatest networking tactic that I’ve ever used to get to personally know a lot of POI’s. (and should have started using it a LOT sooner.)
With this tactic, you can go from a nobody to a somebody to a POI very very quickly.
In fact, this tactic is so powerful that I build an entire business around it!!!
So here it is…
Interviewing POI’s
Yes, the greatest networking tactic in the world is to seek out POI’s or gurus and interview them.When you interview a guru, they get to know you and you get to know them.
You get to personally ask them revealing questions.
And in many cases, if you continue to communicate with them after the interview, you can go onto become good friends with them.
The Secret to Getting Interviews
The real secret to getting POI’s or gurus to agree to do interviews with you is to show them that you have a community of people that will listen to the interview.
The easist way to do that is to have your own ONLINE RADIO SHOW!
Yup, your own online radio show. The moment you tell someone that you have your own radio show it piques their interest and desire to be a guest.
An online radio show is SIMPLE to start (a lot simpler than you might think). Heck, just go to google and type in, “How to start an online radio show” and you’ll find a bunch of articles on the topic.
If you have a blog, you can go to BlogTalkRadio and start your own radio show.
Once you have all the technical details down then just create your own “wish list” of people you want to meet and start asking for interviews.
It’s that simple!

…I would have started with my own radio show.
No doubt. Absolutely, 100% sure. I definitely would have started my own show.
