An Authority Website
An authority site is a website that is based on a specific topic that the search engines love.
Authority sites almost always sit at the top of the search engines. If you want to see one, just go and type in a keyword and look at the top 3 websites that come up in the natural search results.
Those are typically authority sites.
An authority site can generate a never ending stream of continous leads forever!

How to Create An Authority Website
I could write a book on the topic, but here are the 7 elements to creating an Authority website.
1. It must be focused on a niche
2. It should be attractive
3. It must target one primary keyword and several secondary keywords
4. It must have lots of great content
5. It usually has lots of inbound links
6. It usually has longevity
7. It often has portions of the keyword in it’s URL.
But An Authority Site Means Nothing…
…if you can’t generate leads.
The trick to turning an authority site into a lead generation website is to simply offer something of high value for free in exchange for people’s email address. Once you do that, you’ll create a never ending lead generation machine.
Each day I continue to crank out leads from my authority sites by simply offering high value information in exchange for my visitor’s email address.
My 10 Step Authority Site Building Plan
This is a very high level authority site building plan. But it represents all the steps I go through when I create an authority website.
Step 1 – Pick a niche
Step 2 – Select a niche specific keyword phrase and two secondary keyword phrases
Step 3 – Buy a keyword based domain
Step 4 – Gather already existing “niche specific” content
Step 5 – Create or buy a report that you can offer as a “lead magnet”
Step 6 – Study existing authority sites and create an attractive design with lead generation as your primary goal.
Step 7 – Select a content management system like WordPress, Joomla or Drupal and have your site designed.
Step 8 – Load your site up with existing content.
Step 9 – Start an outbound article marketing campaign (for inbound links)
Step 10 – Continue to create and post fresh content to your new site.
